Professor Wu Shifa is the pioneer and founder of the research on high-speed photography optical measurement technology of detonation in China. In 1961, he first applied optical fiber technology to the optical measurement of nuclear explosion in China. He is also a major participant in the development of China's first atomic bomb. He has won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress award, the second prize of national scientific and technological progress award, the third prize of national scientific and technological progress award once respectively, and the first prize of National Natural Science Award and the second prize of national invention award once respectively.
